One of the most important global wine competitions, the International Wine Challenge 2021 recently revealed its winners for the 37th edition, with Santa Rita achieving high scores across all its brands.
The IWC judging teams include experts and influencers from the international wine industry, commercial decision makers, buyers and MWs working in unison to find the highest quality wines each year from the 52 wine-producing countries represented in the competition.
For Santa Rita, the top-of-the-line Carménère, Pewën de Apalta 2019, secured 95 points and a Gold Medal. The judges highlighted “Deep purple, violets, chalk and graphite. Tightly knit palate with sweet, spicy fruit. A super long finish”. As its name stated, Pewën is sourced from old dry-farmed vineyards in the renowned Apalta Valley,
In addition, Floresta Carménère 2019 achieved a score of 92 and a Silver Medal, while Triple C 2017 received 90 points and also a Silver Medal.
